Depth perception (also known as stereopsis) is the ability to accurately judge the distance of an object. Accurate depth perception requires good binocular vision (or eye teaming), a visual skill that allows both of our eyes to point at the same target in space in a precise and coordinated manner. Some conditions that can cause depth perception problems include blurry vision usually in one eye, strabismus, amblyopia, trauma to an eye and a nerve problem in an eye. Treatment includes glasses and/or vision therapy.
