I-DROP MGD is a premium, preservative-free, artificial tear that helps relieve symptoms associated with evaporative dry eye. It is the most advanced eye drop for hydrating and lubricating the cornea. The formulation contains 0.20% viscoadaptive hyaluronan, as well as superior osmoprotectants and bioprotectants that stabilize and enhance the lipid layer, while reducing evaporation of the tear film. This unique formulation offers the patient unparalleled ocular hydration and comfort. It is a long-lasting artificial tear that re-coats the surface of the eye with every blink, resulting in a lower therapy cost to the patient with fewer daily applications. I-DROP MGD is available in a multi-dose bottle with a sophisticated one-way valve and air-return system that delivers one sterile-dosed drop at a time.

Doctorʼs Impression

DOCTOR
“This is the only preservative free visco-adaptive drop that specifically targets the lipid layer of the tear film and keeps the cornea hydrated. The visco-adaptive property of this drop comes from the molecule, hyaluronate. Hyaluronate allows the drop to adhere better onto the ocular surface by interacting with the aqueous and mucin layers of the tear film. While the glycerin component of the drop contributes to strengthening the interface between the aqueous and lipid layer of the tear film. However, the key to this drop is its unique lipid enhancer. This lipid enhancer consists of a phosphorylycholine molecule with a short fatty acid chain that possesses hydrophilic and lipophilic properties. Due to these properties, the molecule can easily integrate into the lipid layer to reduce evaporation of tears. It simply improves the integrity of the ocular tear film so the corneal epithelium can heal and be restored to a homeostatic environment. The drop is ideal for individuals who suffer evaporative dry eyes.”
